Took this video while doing an excursion through "Punta Cana Mike's Dominican Adventure Tours" in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. In the early afternoon the tour took us for a walk through the local market in Higuey, Dominican Republic. This is the town in which most of the resort staff working in Punta Cana live. It was very interesting to see the everyday activities of citizens from a different culture. The Higuey market was a very busy place during our visit. https://www.facebook.com/VivianHaywardDestinations/ http://www.puntacanamike.com/higuey-circle

The reality of how pork is produced in the Dominican Republic
The title says it all....
Fresh fruit consumption is one of the keys to a long life. Whether it's seeded grapes, seeded watermelon or fresh papaya all fruits can contribute to great overall health. Shopping for fresh fruits in the Caribbean is easier than finding oil reserves in the middle east. The climate is favorable for growing bundles of organic produce. The Dominican Republic has a rich history in agriculture as witnessed by their export transactions with other countries. This video shows some of the fresh fruits available in the Dominican Republic and some of the organic produce that I consume frequently. ================================= Like My Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/cochisetaraksaamotivation Follow Me on Twitter: https://twitter.com/CochiseTarakSaa

The Dominican-Haitian boarder on the morning of March 9, 2012. The boarder is open on Friday mornings, allowing for the Haitians to come and gather the supplies they will need for the following week from the open market in Dajabon. The video does not do justice to the magnitude of poverty I witnessed nor to the intense desperation on so many faces, or the experience itself.
Many foreigners have attempted to design the perfect Caribbean lifestyle, yet many failed as they either arrived with a lack of money or an established income, couldn't find work, or they set up the wrong kind of business (or they didn't run it correctly). So in this video, Mr.T focuses on the smartest solutions for these typical challenges. He also interviews existing expats who either have jobs or run a business in the North Coast market place (Sosua - Cabarete) of Dominican Republic, to gain their valuable knowledge about the pros and cons of working and starting a businesses there, and the local economy. This video also includes a list of needed Dom Rep businesses. Enjoy! Music credits go to YouTube Audio Library and various artists that make their tracks available - many thanks! ...

On market day in Dajabon, a bustling town in the Haiti Dominican Republic border, you can pick up many bargains if you know where to look. You can haggle the price of a live chicken down to 40 pesos (72p); wrestle 10lb of macaroni from 60 to 50 pesos; and, with some discreet inquiries, buy a Haitian child for the equivalent of £54.22. "You just ask around town," says Hilda Pe-a, who monitors border crossings for the Jesuit Refugee Service. "People know who the scouts are." Dominicans have a thriving black market trade for Haitians in the Dominican Republic, where they are mostly used for domestic service, agricultural work or prostitution. Haitian migrants also face discrimination and racist attacks from locals.
Bavaro is definitely a tourist friendly town, full of hundreds of colorful little beachside shops, resorts and hotels. The http://DRescapes.com team stops over for the night as we continue along on our Southeast road trip exploring the Southeast portion of the Dominican Republic. Although we prefer to live on the North Coast in the village of Cabrera where the pace of life is a little less frenetic, we do love to venture out to some of the more touristy areas like Bavaro and Punta Cana on our little vacations. Compared to the tourristy shops on other Caribbean islands, we find many of the items in the stores of Bavaro to be a much better bargain and the variety is pretty amazing. Keep checking the DR Escapes website and our Youtube channel for more expat interviews and tours of busin...
